Microsoft Teams Phone System - Technology Success

Microsoft is once again disrupting the communications market, with the introduction of a brand-new phone system slowly being integrated worldwide. The solution for businesses combines chat, calling, meetings, calendars, and email to offer a comprehensive package for collaboration and communication.

Designed for companies with up to 300 users, the phone system is a cloud-based offering that integrates with Microsoft Teams and Office 365. Business Voice by Microsoft will work across all devices, including smartphones, desk phones, and computers, so that users can make crucial calls from anywhere.

What’s more, the service also uses AI technology from Microsoft to translate chat messages, transcribe voice mails, and offer real-time captioning to users.

This system works with the following 365 subscriptions:

  • Office 365 Business Essentials
  • Office 365 Business Premium
  • Office 365 E1
  • Office 365 E3
  • Office 365 F1
  • Microsoft 365 A1
  • Microsoft 365 A3
  • Microsoft 365 E3
  • Microsoft 365 Business

In addition to offering customers a range of Skype for Business certified IP phones, as part of the Teams IP phone certification program, we are announcing the availability of new IP phone hardware that will be certified for Microsoft Teams. This certification program ensures a higher quality bar with higher performance targets and audio quality metrics. Phone vendors are actively working to meet this higher bar and will be qualifying against the new requirements this calendar year. Some of our partners are also working to provide support for the Skype for Business service on the same hardware as the Teams IP phones above. Benefits from the Teams certified IP phone include:

  • Native Teams experience with hardware button integration and LED notifications
  • Calendar integration and one-touch meeting join
  • Deployed and managed via the Microsoft Device ManagementSolution with Intuneintegration
