Red Piranha and Australian based company have launched ‘Crystal Eye’, the first generation firewall developed from SIA blockchain technology. Red Piranha believes the SIA Blockchain storage technology is ideal for log storage having the capacity to create detailed storage ledgers and will reduce the cost of log storage by over 50% compared to other traditional storage mediums.

Crystal eye is the first Australian-made Unified Threat Management (UTM) platform that was designed specifically for SMEs for simplified total information-security management.

Telstra recently did a survey that focused on the Australian SME market, and the research found that 93 per cent of small to medium enterprise companies would like a solution that is all-encompassing that directly tackles the issue of cybercrime. It’s known that SMEs have lacked cybersecurity products designed specifically for their market and often have not been happy with overpriced complex solutions that they cannot manage and therefore need to either turn to an MSP or hire more IT personnel.

Speaking to inside small business Australia, Adam Bennet, CEO and Founder, said;

“Red Piranha and Crystal Eye were born out of frustration. SMEs lacked time, money and understanding of the overwhelming security solutions in the market. So we set out to build an affordable, easy to use product that went against having multiple security systems. Instead of having several single-function appliances, all needing individual familiarity, attention and support, Crystal Eye enables network administrators to centrally administer their security defences from one box.”

Crystal Eye is one platform with one set of policies that can be adjusted depending on the company’s priorities. This is critical in reducing the response time to threats, responding to incidents and creating consistent security policies. All appliances are made to order – that means they have the most up-to-date tech and are built with each company’s goals and issues in mind.” – He continued.

As reported by The Australian, who also covered Crystal Eye, reports Adam as one of the founding members of the hacktivist group ‘Anonymous‘. Mr Bennet believes that the development of local cybersecurity technology is critical at a time when the occurrence and frequency of occurrence in cyber attacks have increased exponentially.

Red Piranha is an outlier when it comes to the Australian home-developed security market. Only a hand full of businesses that are Australian owned and opera has built cybersecurity technologies and execute as a Security as a Service (SaaS) model to other businesses as a high-level solution.

How does it work and What does the interface look like?
